Compatibility of Waxed TR Fabric with Windproof and Waterproof Fabric

TR fabric is a blended fabric made of rayon and polyester in a specific proportion. This blending method cleverly combines the characteristics of the two fabrics. The fabric is smooth and clean, bright in color, has a significant wooly feel, and has good elasticity and moisture absorption. TR fabric has excellent wear resistance, second only to nylon, and outstanding performance among natural and synthetic fibers. Its light resistance is second only to acrylic. It also has a certain corrosion resistance. It can withstand bleach, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum products and inorganic acids, is resistant to dilute alkali, and is not easy to mildew, but hot alkali will decompose it.
How wax coating works
Wax coating plays a key role in the windproof and waterproof function of TR fabric. When wax is evenly covered on the surface of TR fabric, a tight microscopic lubricating film will be formed between the fibers. From a waterproofing perspective, this lubricating film is like a fine barrier that effectively prevents water from penetrating. It is difficult for water molecules to penetrate the gaps in the wax coating, so they cannot contact the fibers inside the fabric, achieving an excellent waterproof effect. In terms of windproof, the wax coating fills the tiny pores that may have existed in the fabric, reducing the air circulation channels. When the outside wind contacts the waxed TR fabric, the wind cannot easily pass through these pores closed by wax, so that the fabric can effectively block the invasion of wind.
